Tenured professorship positions available at an intra-galactic university

Colleagues,

I'm not certain where this post goes, but this forum seems as good as any.

I have a unique opportunity for the Guild. I have co-founded a university, and would like to see if there is any interest teaching.
Phu Sector University, its construction now completed, has state-of-the-art research and teaching facilities and can accommodate just about any academic pursuit. If anyone is interested, please post here or send me a message!

Is there anything for military tactics or general military study?

We are still renovating all of the buildings in order to accommodate the various departments' needs. There are several rooms already outfitted with holoprojectors for our telecommuting professors, these rooms can be repurposed to display three dimensional videos and demonstrations of pre-recorded wars, as well as student/professor designed simulations.

However, Phu Sector University (PSU) is a neutral campus and will not tolerate any encouragement of violence on our grounds. Our philosophy is for equal education for all groups, regardless of affiliation. In fact, the founders of PSU drew some inspiration from the Scholars Guild! Please understand our position, we do not wish to be known as a military academy nor an enclave for any particular government or military group. If your motivation to teach is to breed soldiers, you need not apply.

That being said, I am certain your previous military experience will make you a strong candidate Very Happy

As much as I am a soldier I also would like to consider myself a teacher of the military past and the art of war. Even if they do not wish to engage in arms they still must know of it.

Well put. The art of war heavily involves higher-level reasoning and strategy. I would certainly love to see what you are capable of.

If you would like to apply for a position, post here if you have any research interests. Additionally, do a small write up on what you would need in terms of facilities. Finally, and most importantly a small description of the subject(s) you would like to teach. Once all that is compiled, I will review the application and give you any feedback as well as a possible offer of employment!

This is not a volunteer position, mind you. You will have a salary awarded at the end of each semester plus a bonus based on any research progress you make. I can give you more information about financial matters with further correspondence.

This may be something I would be interested in, certainly. Perhaps something your establishment and ours can work on together? I would be interested in teaching Philosophy, both mental and cultural if that appeals?

Mr. Cor I would be honored to welcome the Scholars Guild to PSU's curriculum. The sentients of the galaxy deserve a proper education.

Dr. Razzix,

Will these positions require a teacher to be onsite? I know that with the advancement of live holovideo, many facilities of higher learning have opened up their doors to teaching and learning in "the cloud," whatever that is.

I believe we've discussed the option of having offsite positions, but I don't recall that we ever came to a definitive conclusion.

I took this into consideration when designing the classrooms and auditoriums. You are correct, as scholars we are all quite busy and will find ourselves all over the galaxy more often than not. Each auditorium and classroom is equipped with several holoprojectors and specialized droids tailored specifically to the specifications and needs of the professors. Of course, we can also look into hiring teaching assistants who will remain on the asteroid.

If you wish to have a lab on site (as I suspect many of our applicants might), you will of course need your own staff.
